Some of the best drop knee riders in the world will battle it out in this specialty division. Each rider will surf two times and will be scored on two waves in each heat. Favorites include Kainoa McGee, David Hubbard, Thomas Richard and Xavier Canesson.

Round one went off in relatively easy three to six feet surf. At this size it is anyones contest but if conditions start to get heavy and big waves consistent, McGee will be extremely hard to beat.
